About the AirTrain
AirTrain is the most effective way to move in and around JFK Airport, connecting to each terminal in the airport, car rentals, and Howard Beach and Jamaica station. AirTrain is a great alternative to driving, allowing you to get exactly where you're going without bringing your car with you and hassling with parking and traffic.
Howard Beach and Jamaica stations connect to transit all over Long Island and New York City, including trains, buses, and subways.
What You Need to Know
*AirTrain runs 24 hours a day, every day, including all holidays.
*Travel within JFK Airport terminals, car rentals, and parking lots is all free.
*Passengers arriving at or departing from Jamaica or Howard Beach stations pay $5 fare. Children under 5 ride free. This does not include fares for connecting transit.
*AirTrain connects with the following mass transit routes and options:

Before You Leave
*AirTrain Metro-Card vending machines accept cash (US currency only), credit cards, and debit cards, dispensing no more than $6 in change, all in coins.
*Credit and debit cards are NOT accepted at subway station booths.
*Make sure your fare is in a form acceptable for connecting transit.
*Multiple trip discounts are available. Call the general information line listed below for more information.
*New York City subways cannot accommodate passengers with large pieces of luggage. Take this into consideration in making your transportation plans.
