What You Need To Know:
*JFK is a commercial airport with eight terminals serving airlines and their passengers from all over the world.
*Parking lots surround the entire airport, and are now color-coded to help you park as close to your terminal as possible. They accept E-ZPass Plus,
*JFK has added family security lines. These security lines are added specifically for families, and those who are unfamiliar with TSA security procedures. This allows experienced travelers and those in a hurry to get where they're going quickly, while families and others who need more time can get through security with minimal stress and hassle.
*The JFK AirTrain moves passengers between the terminals. Be advised that travel time between each terminal is about eight minutes. Be sure to allow yourself enough time to get where you're going. Please visit our AirTrain information page to learn more about AirTrain.
*JFK boasts literally hundreds of places to do business, shop, or eat. Each terminal is well-equipped with restaurants and other services, and you should be able to find what you're looking for at your terminal, with a few exceptions:
-Cell phone rentals are available at Terminal 3 at the arrivals area.
-Citibank is the largest currency exchange desk at JFK, located in Building 72 on the South Service Road of the Van Wyck Expressway.
-JFK's full-service post office is located in Building 250 on North Boundary Road.
*While security at JFK is excellent, it isn't all-seeing and all-powerful. Travelers should exercise caution. Ignore non-uniformed people offering to help you with your bags. Ignore individuals in the terminal offering ground transportation. Safe, reputable ground transportation can be found at information counters, taxi dispatchers, and bus stops.
